On behalf of Holbrook Travel, Debbie Sturdivant Jordan is in attendance at the 2014 Audubon Florida Assembly, taking place in Stuart, Fla. today and tomorrow, to discuss the benefits Audubon chapters can gain through group birding and nature travel programs.
The assembly, held at the Hutchinson Island Marriott Beach Resort & Marina, aims to spread awareness on protecting Florida's natural resources with an emphasis on conservation of land, water and wildlife. Leaders, educators, scientists and policy makers from Audubon's 35,000 members and 44 chapters are joining the event as well to participate in workshops, field trips and learning sessions.
Leslie Kemp Poole, Rollins College professor and author of Saving Florida: Women's Fight for the Environment in the 20th Century, is the keynote speaker of the event.
