In the 1980s, Giovanna Holbrook rescued 500 acres of Costa Rican primary and secondary rainforest from deforestation. Selva Verde eco-lodge and private reserve now protects hundreds of species of mammals, reptiles, amphibians, plants and birds.

David joined Holbrook in February of 1991 as part of the budding accounting department under the direction of Giovanna Holbrook. Over the years, David’s talent and contribution earned him the role of Chief Financial Officer. Under Holbrook’s umbrella, David earned an MBA from the University of Florida. David is in charge of the company’s fiscal management for corporate strategy of growth and solvency. David has visited Chile, Costa Rica, Mexico, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands.

Andrea joined the Holbrook Travel team in 1993 and has been the president and CEO since 1998. In addition to her role at Holbrook, she also continues her mother’s work at Selva Verde Lodge and Rainforest Reserve, a place that was her introduction to the hospitality and travel industry as well as a reawakening to her Latina heritage. Andrea is a board member of the Sarapiquí Conservation Learning Center, a non-profit organization closely linked with Selva Verde that connects communities with conservation through education and ecotourism.

Andrea holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature with a minor in Russian studies from Columbia University. In addition to numerous positions within the tourism industry, Andrea has been recognized for her support of the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) at the University of Florida.
