Upon arrival into San Jose, you will meet your guide in the airport and then travel to Selva Verde Lodge & Rainforest Reserve, located in the lush lowlands of northeastern Costa Rica. During your transfer, your guide will give you an orientation to your program and Costa Rica. En route, stop for lunch at Freddo Fresas (pending road conditions). Check in starts at 2:00 pm. This evening take a night hike in search of frogs, snakes, and insects.

Early this morning, take a bird walk around the grounds of the lodge. The avifauna of Selva Verde is abundant, and feeding stations have been set up around the lodge to facilitate observation and identification of the many species that frequent the area. After breakfast, take a hike in the reserve. In the afternoon, visit Best Chocolate to learn about the natural and cultural history of chocolate.

Start today with another forest hike. The remainder of the day is at leisure to participate in optional activities, such as whitewater rafting, zip lining, or a pineapple tour (optional activities at an additional cost).

Today, depart for the Arenal area. Stop in the town of La Fortuna for shopping and lunch at Lava Rocks Cafe. Check in at Arenal Paraíso. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure to relax and enjoy an optional spa treatment (optional treatment at additional cost).

This morning, take a guided hike in Arenal National Park. After lunch, the remainder of the day will be at leisure to relax, enjoy an optional spa treatment, or participate in an optional activity such as a zip line tour (optional activities at additional cost).

Travel today to Tamarindo Beach in Guanacaste. En route enjoy lunch. Upon arrival the remainder of the day will be at leisure to enjoy the beach. Hotel Pasatiempo is located at only 400 yards from the beach at Playa Tamarindo, the jewel of Guanacaste, Costa Rica.

After breakfast, head to Flamingo Beach for a scenic catamaran journey along the beautiful Pacific coast. From the dock, take a brief ride by motorized tender to arrive at the catamaran, then go aboard and set sail! Enjoy a picnic style meal on board, then swim and snorkel from the catamaran in search of tropical fish, octopi, starfish, rays, and puffer fish. At the end of the cruise, board the tender back to shore and return to the hotel. The afternoon is at leisure to explore the beach or relax. This evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at the hotel

This morning transfer to the airport in Liberia for your flight home.
