Depart the US.
Upon arrival in Kilimanjaro, you will be taken to your lodge in Arusha. You will be given a pre-safari briefing by your guide before dinner this evening.
Start today with a visit to a local market to purchase six months of food for the schools. We will be buying enough maize, beans, cooking oil, sugar, tea leaves and salt to last from July to December. The food will be loaded onto a special hired truck and we will proceed to Losirwa and Lucas Mhina primary schools for delivering. Picnic lunches will be provided on the way. Later, head out to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is home to approximately 6,000 elephants; you will also find giraffes, buffalos, elands, wildebeest, zebra, antelopes, lions, leopards, jackals, and cheetah. Extensive grasslands, dusted with the occasional acacia or baobab tree, provide the optimum conditions for viewing wild animals.
This morning an armed park ranger will escort you on a nature walk through Tarangire National Park. The walk takes approximately two hours as you look for birds, and wildlife. Return to the camp for lunch, then later you'll head out for an afternoon wildlife-viewing drive.
This morning continue exploring Tarangire National Park. Afterwards, travel to Mto Wa Mbu Village for a walk and a lunch prepared by a local family. Visit a secondary school this afternoon.
Today, begin the transfer to the Serengeti National Park which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site where over a million wildebeest famously migrate every year. Upon arrival, enjoy some free time before gathering around the campfire and have a discussion with our group leader about the Great Migration. Dinner at lodge.

Our wildlife-viewing drive experience will include breakfast out in the field. We will return to the camp late in the morning and have lunch. Then enjoy some free time to rest and relax before heading out for our midafternoon wildlife-viewing drive. This area is the best for hippos, crocs, carnivores, elephants, and giraffes, to name a few!
