Part geography lesson, part guessing game. BBC Travel's new game, Geoguessr, possesses the potential to become a fun resource for geography teachers or simply an informative way to pass the time.
The game allows players to test their knowledge of geography by taking them to an anonymous location via Google maps. Players explore their location before pinpointing it on a map to make their guess. The program awards points based on the distance between the player's guess and the actual location.
Once they get better at the game, players can even set a time limit or challenge their friends to show off their geographical prowess.
