I set my alarm for six o’clock in the morning so that I would wake up early enough to hear and see the sights of the town from the hotel’s balcony with coffee in hand.
We had some free time to wander around town before lunch, so I asked the staff where they would recommend that I go, and they suggested the central park.
We finally arrived at Copán, with its brightly colored buildings and its narrow cobblestone streets, just as beautiful and majestic as I remember it being 31 years ago.
