Our naturalist guide Alan Gillanderes who will take care of us for the next two days picked us up.  Our first stop is a visit to the Cairns Swamp.

After arriving in Cairns last night, we checked into The Heritage Cairns hotel and took a shower and nap.  What an exciting start to our adventure!
