A few small buildings sit on a misty lake shoreline with mountains of Torres del Paine formation in the background, in early morning light

This adventure to Torres del Paine had been a bucket list item for many, many years! Now was my time for my “latitude adjustment.”

There was beauty at every turn we made! The clouds are amazing in Patagonia and can change the looks in an instant!

But the energy that comes from this area—not only from the strong winds, the mountains, and the glaciers, but also the immense space—quiets the mind and you take it all in.

As we were leaving this incredible place, our driver stopped at just the right spots to get these amazing photos.

I found myself inspired to come up with my own Jimmy Buffet-style verse:

With wind in my hair and wine in my hand,
From Andes to ice, I’ve danced through this land.
From tango to glaciers, where stories unfurl—
I found my own party at the end of the world.

Above: On several previous trips to Costa Rica, I’d photographed many iguanas, usually from forest trails or from boats along the riverbanks. They were perched on branches, basking on rocks, or scurry
