On the second day of our Holbrook Costa Rica birding trip, we made a stop at a small roadside restaurant at Cinchona Mirador to watch the bird feeders. At first, the Northern Emerald-Toucanet was retiring until the bananas were replenished. Unable to resist temptation, he finally came in for extended looks and photos from the excited flock of assembled birders and photographers. After filling up, he soon departed and the group took this as its cue to enjoy the delicious Costa Rican coffee or the local agua dulce on offer. Having recharged our batteries, we were off to the next birding spot of the day.
