The Sea Turtle Conservancy of Gainesville, Fla., proudly presents Tortuguero: Epicenter of Sea Turtle Conservancy, a documentary produced in 2011 by Two-Head Video.
The screening will be held at the Hippodrome on Feb. 18 at 8 p.m. with refreshments from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are only available for advance purchase. There are a limited number of seats and Feb. 16 is the deadline for purchasing tickets. Proceeds from the screening will benefit sea turtle conservation.
This documentary takes viewers on an amazing journey through 50 years of sea turtle conservation at the world’s oldest sea turtle research facility in Tortuguero, Costa Rica.
The STC was founded in Gainesville in 1959 by world-renown biologist Dr. Archie Carr. He dedicated his life to conservation and teaching. The STC’s mission is to ensure the survival of sea turtles through research, education, advocacy and protection of natural habitats.
