Holbrook is looking for an Accounting professional to join our Accounting Team. The ideal person for this position will have a degree and experience in Accounting or Finance and be motivated by the areas of interest that Holbrook connects with; travel, environment, education, sustainability, and global literacy. This position is based at our headquarters in Gainesville, Florida.
Responsibilities
• Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
• Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
• Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
• Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
• Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Works well independently
• Self-motivated
• Proficiency with MS Excel
• Reporting skills
• Attention to detail
• Deadline-oriented
• Confidentiality of information
• Business math skills
Salary and Benefits
Negotiable. 50% dental and health insurance covered first and second year, 75% the third year, and 100% after 3 years, a 401K plan with contribution matching plan and 2-3 weeks of vacation time based on years of service as well as 6 paid holidays.
