Photo of the Month: March 2016

My colleague, Steve Kaye, and I took 12 students from Red Rocks Community College to northern Tanzania as part of our BIO 228: Field Biology course. In advance of the trip, our students decided to collect school supplies and soccer equipment to donate to two local schools in Tanzania. Playing soccer with the school children in Esilalei, a small Maasai village near Lake Manyara, was a highlight for all. Visiting Esilalei allowed us to donate quality educational materials to a community in need and to watch the children smile at the sight of brand new soccer balls and pumps. It was a wonderful complement to our entire Tanzania adventure and enhanced a learning experience of a lifetime for our students. At the end of our trip, the entire group of students, guides, and instructors were like a family, bonded together by unforgettable experiences.
