Hike to Tenino National Park then Gator game!

Day 3- Rio Celeste GO GATORS! Wake up call again by the howler monkeys!  We were up this morning at 6: 15 a.m. and after an outdoor shower, I was ready for breakfast!  The fresh baked breads here are something to write home about as well as the fruit! At around 8 a.m., we met our guide for our hike to Tenino National Park and waterfalls.  We had to walk about 1.5 miles to the entrance to Tenino Park.  We paid the entrance fee and started the hike through this Humid Forest ecosystem, with the chance to observe various animal species and exuberant flora surrounding us. Along the walk we will discover the magnificent Rio Celeste waterfall, but the hike to get there was more than John could do with his knee and more that I wanted to do with my fear of heights.  We hiked another couple miles and then headed back to the hotel.  We decided to relax and enjoy the pool and hot tub and several different drinks and enjoy the sun. All too soon it was time to eat again!  We enjoyed another wonderful lunch and since it was Saturday, it was Gator football.  We sat and stared at the computer for over 3 hours, we could not listen to it, but Gator Scott from gatorzone has a terrific blog and with my Facebook friend Claudia we kept up with another Gator victory!  During the game Juan fixed us fresh coffee and fresh baked pastries.  After dinner we watched some of the FSU/Oklahoma game on ESPN in Spanish!

Photo of the Month: November 2025
Above: On the way to see baobab trees at sunset on the red dirt roads in the bush of Madagascar, we stopped as the young goat herders crossed directly in front of us, looking like majestic figures in the sunlit, dusty glow. It felt like the scene of a movie, and this photo captured the feeling of that moment perfectly.
