News: Flooding at Selva Verde Lodge

Early on Sunday morning there was a flash flood in the Sarapiquí region of Costa Rica that affected a restricted part of Selva Verde Lodge. Due to the floods, 12 of our 47 rooms will be closed for repair for an undetermined amount of time while we work on renovating the rooms.

No other areas of the lodge were damaged and the remainder of our rooms and services/tours are unaffected. At this time, we don’t anticipate that any future guests visiting Selva Verde will be disturbed by this incident, but in the unlikely event that this changes we will be in touch with you as soon as possible.

The flood is believed to be an isolated incident, and although this is the first time in our history that floods have reached such levels, heavy rain is not uncommon in Costa Rica during June and July.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our team.
