Overlooking the city of Curitiba, the capital and largest city of the Brazilian state of Paraná, Jardim Botánico de Curitiba is known for its massive greenhouse and geometric garden. The space offers two greenhouses — one of which is restricted for research only. The main greenhouse is complete with three domes of the Art-Nouveau style, which was inspired by a crystal palace from London in the 19th century. Jardim Botánico de Curitiba also features a lake, waterfall, area for physical exercise, velodrome, Aracaria forest and its own museum. The Municipal Botanical Museum is a wooden building accessible through a wooden bridge and houses 310 million plant species of the Atlantic forest and also includes an auditorium, research center, library, and space for specialized halls, as well as temporary and permanent exhibitions. Its Municipal Botanical Museum has the fourth largest herbarium in the country. In 2007, this tourist spot was one of few monuments voted in an election for the choice of the Seven Wonders of Brazil.
