Trip Preview: Costa Rica Neotropical Birding

Costa Rica's avian biodiversity is frankly quite incredible-- there are 894 recorded species, making this little country a birding paradise. At Selva Verde Lodge, visitors have countless opportunities to bird in the tropical rainforest while also taking part in recreational activities like river rafting or horseback riding.

If this entices you, join our Costa Rica Neotropical Birding program, from March 26 - April 1! Spend seven unforgettable days trekking this precious ecosystem and learning about Costa Rica's natural history. Whether you're an expert birder or just fascinated by avian species, a bilingual guide will help you identify hundreds of birds you're bound to encounter on this trip.

Some of the highlights of this trip include looking for the Great Tinamou, Spectacled Owl, Crested Guan and others at the Organization of Tropical Studies at Selva Verde Biological Station; taking a day trip to the Bosque de Paz cloud forest; and visiting Braulio Carrillo National Park to find the Black-crowned Antpitta, Snowcap Hummingbird, and more.
