Holbrook Travel is seeking qualified applicants for an open position in our product development team.

This position will be responsible for managing the current product line and developing new and innovative programs, as well as sourcing new supplier relationships and reviewing existing supplier relationships focused on cost reduction and management and service quality, with the goal of ensuring the company maintains its competitive advantage. By fully understanding customer and company needs, the ideal candidate is able to maximize profitability without sacrificing quality and provide a range of high quality products at competitive prices.

Communication is essential in this role as it cuts across regions, several functions and clients. Maintaining communication and ensuring all issues and timelines are met and managed will ensure success in this role. Through strong vendor relationships and fully understanding customer and company needs, the position is challenged with maximizing profitability and ensuring quality and service levels are achieved.

This position is based at our headquarters in Gainesville, Florida.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development and delivery of new, competitive and profitable products.
  • Manage the existing product line through continuing analysis to ensure efficient delivery of services and a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Act as the purchasing/contracting manager and determine contracting strategy and vision through consultation with stakeholders in Development and Operations for the assigned regions with the objective of achieving a continually reducing level of costs of goods without sacrificing quality.
  • Strengthen and improve relationships with existing vendors and source new ones for future products.
  • Seek out product efficiencies that reduce costs and provide quality client experience.
  • Coordinate research needs on destinations and products as requested.
  • Coordinate analysis on market trends and competitor offerings to ensure Holbrook Travel and its clients are effectively positioned in the market.
  • Support Group Leader and Site Coordinator training.
  • Offer support and quality control of all product collateral and content, including brochures, trip details, and website.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on the assigned regions by contributing to the development and maintenance of product training materials, to ensure a high level of product knowledge throughout the organization.
  • Work with Quality Management team to ensure contracted services are achieving company goals related to service level expectations.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 2 years travel industry experience
  • Minimum 1 year buyer/negotiating experience
  • Experience developing or managing travel products, preferably in Latin America
  • Ability to travel extensively and with short notice
  • Commitment to customer service
  • Ability to manage a crisis
  • Fluency in Spanish is a huge plus
  • Comfortable working with numbers and spreadsheets
  • Polished, professional verbal/written communication
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Organizational/time management skills: Job may require working on multiple concurrent projects. Candidates must be able to work efficiently and in an organized manner in order to meet project deadlines.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office products and computer savvy to be able to learn internal programs and systems
  • U.S. citizen or have the appropriate documentation required to be eligible to work in the U.S.

 

Salary and Benefits

50% Dental and health insurance premiums covered first and second year, 75% the third year, then 100% after completing 3 full years; 2 weeks of paid vacation time, 3 weeks after your 5th year of employment, as well as 7 paid holidays. Salaries are established at the time of employment, commensurate with skills, experience, position and potential. Salary increases and discretionary bonuses are not predetermined nor are they routinely granted. Increases and bonuses are solely based on seniority in the agency, productive quality, dependability, cooperation, judgment, attendance, individual initiative, general attitudes, merit and overall financial condition of the company.
