To travel is to learn. With Holbrook`s academic tours, expert guides expand on travel`s lessons with in-depth learning experiences designed for students from junior high to graduate school in locations worldwide. Holbrook`s academic travel programs complement academic curriculum by providing cultural immersion, authentic cultural exchange and global literacy skills.

Holbrook offers different types of innovative travel for students. Science-based investigative field studies allow students to practice scientific protocols in the field. Service-learning opportunities provide cultural immersion and hands-on involvement in local communities. Adventure-based learning programs build leadership and self-reliance while teaching cultural skills. Holbrook`s interdisciplinary studies programs examine various aspects of a country to establish a multifaceted look at the society and its functions, from the economics of biological conservation to the artistry of Mayan weavers.

All of Holbrook`s programs are hand crafted to the instructor`s interests, student budget and dates of travel. They include standard-based instruction and a blend of formal lectures, informal discussions, hands-on field activities, reflection and adventure to capitalize on the discovery aspect of travel.

Holbrook`s academic programs give teachers the ability to align their travel itinerary with their academic interest — be it science, geography, language, or fine arts, such as photography, music, and dance — to enhance, support and foster global literacy in their subject area. From teachers to students, from the arts to the sciences, from rainforests to ruins, Holbrook`s academic travel programs offer unparalleled international learning experiences for all.
