The volcanic Galápagos Island’s red and black lava formations and rolling highlands provides access to wildlife populations so unique they inspired Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution.

Charles Darwin set off on a voyage in 1831 that would change not only his own life, but change the world as well. What he saw on an isolated group of islands out in the Pacific began an intellectual voyage that would span 20 years and would culminate in the then revolutionary theory that living things are shaped by the world around them. Darwin found a place where some birds no longer fly, tortoises weigh 500 pounds, Antarctic penguins live on the equator, and blue-footed boobies perform elaborate dances for their mates.
This 11-day program invites you to explore and cruise through the serene volcanic landscape of the Galápagos Archipelago. Your journey to these remote islands will be no less exciting than Charles Darwin’s more than one hundred and fifty years ago.

- Enjoy a lecture by Dr. Theofilos Toulkeridis of the Universidad San Francisco de Quito
- Explore Cotopaxi Volcano, the highest active volcano in the world, with Dr. Toulkeridis
- Discover the magical biodiversity and biogeography of this world famous chain of islands
- Get up close and personal with Blue-footed Boobies, Galápagos tortoises, and marine iguanas
- Enjoy hiking on the islands and stargazing aboard Floreana
- Visit the Lava Tunnels of Los Gemoles
- Observe the Pahoehoe lava flows of James Island
- See the fantastic landscape of lava formations of Bartolome, one of the youngest islands in the archipelago
- Spot sea lions and marine iguanas on Rabida Island, one of the most volcanically varied islands of the Galápagos
- Examine the black lava rock, mangroves and wildlife of Fernandina Island.
- Observe fur seals hunt in the inlets of the volcanic coast.
