Itinerary
|
Day 1-3 Myrar, Snaefellsnes,
Breidafiord Bay
- Drive through the Borgarfiord Valley through beautiful natural surroundings.
- Observe wetland bird species in Myrar, visit the
Snaefellsnes Peninsula
watching for Artcic Tern, Kittiwakes, Red-necked Phalarope, and Divers.
- Observe swans "grassing" in the reeds at Swansford
- Take a boat trip around Breidafiord Bay and look for White-tailed Eagle, Shags and Cormorants.
- Tour around the glacier of Snaefellsjokull
Day 4-5 Latrabjarg Bird Cliff – Raudisandur Beach day tour
- Visit Europe’s western most point, Bjargtanger
- Explore the 9-mile bird cliff of Latrabjarg with Iceland’s largest concentration of sea birds
- View Puffin close up and visit the largest Razorbill colony in Iceland
Day 6 - 8 Myvatn, Husavik, Jokulsargljufur NP
- Drive through curved costal roads to the “Valleys Area” keeping a watch for White-tailed Eagles
- Explore Lake Myvatan, renowned for ducks, divers and birds of prey as well as being a geological and biological paradise
- Visit the National Park of Jokulsargljufur, the lake of Asbyrgi and Dettifoss: the largest waterfall of Europe
- Go whale watching from Husavik and look for a variety of sea birds, such as Fulmar and Seagulls
Day 9 Kjölur – Gullfoss/Geysir, Thingvellir, Reykjavik
- Experience the aweinspiring famous sights of
Gullfoss
waterfall and the geothermal area of
Geysir
, and the meeting – or splitting place of the North American and European continents
- Spend some time exploring
Thingvellir National Park
.
- Arrive in
Reykjavik
in the evening
Day 10 Reykjavik / Depart
- Explore the city during the morning.
