About Holbrook
Holbrook has been providing unique travel experiences to the inquiring traveler for 30 years. Long before the Galapagos Islands were perceived as a tourist destination, Giovanna Holbrook (one of our founding members) led a group of enthusiastic naturalists on an expedition to the islands. This spirit of adventure and a burning desire to experience natural wonders and different world cultures established the foundation for the Holbrook/Elderhostel programs.

We have had the privilege of providing educational travel experiences to Hostelers since 1987. Our staff has an extensive background in both academic and travel-related areas, and has rich experience in developing and operating educational, cultural, and special-interest programs in Latin America and Africa. Our desire is to provide each Hosteler with the learning opportunities to increase understanding of the places and people visited and to ultimately increase understanding of oneself.

He joined Holbrook 15 years ago and is proud to have been associated with the Elderhostel programs for the last 14 years. Frank is responsible for program development and implementation as well as guide training and certification.

Tom Carr, Director of Development
Tom is responsible for keeping Holbrook on the cutting edge of eco-travel. Born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, Tom brings a lifetime of travel experience in Central and South America to Holbrook.
The son of Archie and Marjorie Carr, both noted zoologists and conservationists, Tom began exploring the natural world at a young age and worked on many conservation projects around the globe. All this has set the stage for Tom's unique ability to blend culture, wildlife and conservation into exciting Holbrook field courses.
