Your Community
Local community members can be a source of support.
Use this list to prompt ideas of who you might approach:
- Service and Professional Organizations
- Environmental/Conservation Organizations
- Foundations
- Corporations
- Small Businesses
State Level
Ask your administration of district office about using public school systems funds allocated for professional growth.
Research the agencies in your state. Agencies that deal with environmental or cultural topics are the ones to look for. Topics to guide your search: education, youth, science, parks, wildlife, energy, water, air, solid waste, transportation or human health.
National Level
Organizations with a national or international mission tend to support projects with national or international relevance. Foundations and funding agencies associated with the United States government are prime examples of this.
Federal grant programs can be found within the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Partners in Flight Initiative (through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife services) among others.
