This fully guided adventure is designed to highlight one of the most naturally beautiful regions in the country, allowing for an up-close and personal Alaskan experience. Explore the Copper River Delta, the home of the Eyak Indian Tribe. Pass under the branches of old-growth hemlock and spruce as you walk through Chugach National Forest on the edge of Prince William Sound, one of the largest national forests in the United States. After this journey you may leave Alaska, but memories of its stunning features and resilient people will not soon leave you! All of Holbrook’s educational programs offer an equal dose of natural history, culture, and adventure as you explore the best of Holbrook’s diverse destinations.

  • Learn about glaciology and take a road trip across the Copper River Delta to Childs Glacier
  • See the historic Million Dollar Bridge
  • Explore Heney Ridge Trail and hike through 3 complete ecosystems within the trail’s 7 mile route
  • Explore Hinchinbrook Island and visit the Kittiwake colony and observe these nesting sea birds in their natural habitat
  • Take part in a Q&A with members of the Cordova community and a cultural exchange with local youth
  • Study the diverse marine life of tide pools
  • Beach comb on Egg Island and survey gull nests with a local biologist
  • Learn about the world’s largest population of sea otters during your boat trip at Orca Inlet
  • White water raft the Sheridan River and paddle alongside glaciers
  • Discover the history of the area at the Cordova Historical Museum
  • Ferry across Prince William Sound to return to Anchorage
