Film screening: "The Mystical Migration of the Monarch"

Holbrook is excited to sponsor a screening of “The Mystical Migration of the Monarch” as part of the 8th annual Cinema Verde International Environmental Film & Arts Festival in Gainesville, Fla. The documentary film by Fairn Whatley and Suzanne Damrich is about a monarch butterfly, her vanishing habitat, and her unique relationship to the Gulf Coast. If you're in the area, we invite you to come out for the screening.

What: "The Mystical Migration of the Monarch," a documentary film 

Where: Hippodrome Theatre, 25 SE 2nd Pl, Gainesville, Florida

When: Saturday, February 11, 2017 - second film of the 2:45 pm film block (following "Owsia")

The film is open to the public and tickets for the two-film block are available for $10 at the link below. Holbrook President Andrea Holbrook will introduce the film and its filmmakers, and there will be time for discussion and Q&A with the filmmakers after the screening. 

From 12 to 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday, there will be an EcoFair around the Hippodrome at the Sun Center Plaza, featuring local organizations and businesses, information tables, local food groups, activities, and environmental authors. There will also be the opportunity to purchase native milkweed plants to support local monarch populations.
